I remember being grossed out by Brussels sprouts when I was a kid because I thought they resembled alien brains - now I know where that came from. I also remember looking at an old movie poster 'Invasion of the Saucer-Men' and thinking "Wow - when these guys get headaches they must really be down for the count".
Inspired by science ( particularly cosmology and astrophysics ) and a personal journey of curiosity and realizations. Some homage to Carl Sagan and Voyager l on this one.
The piece is a mixed media construction with wooden components. The work incorporates various symbolic elements related to the idea of the dangers of ocean navigation, presented in a format reminiscent of a Tibetan gau box.
Moderated by Nucleus, this online gallery showcases quality original artwork at affordable prices. All work measures 5"x7" and is priced at $50 or $100. Artists are welcome to submit for possible inclusion in this project. Proceeds from each sale benefits the artist's chosen charity.
