Ronald Searle pictured in 1956 It has been very sad news to learn of the passing of such a treasured talent who has inspired and paved the way for countless artists of our time. As it was announced earlier this week that we have lost him, it has been with heavy hearts that we prepare for a solo of the artist's work opening this Saturday.
The work he has left behind is a testament to the passion that was within him. Even as a prisoner of war in the 1940s and near death, he feverishly captured the horrific scenes around him. Coined as "Britian's greatest graphic artist," Searle's imagery was uniquely comical yet dark. His distinct style will continue to earn our admiration. Read reflections on Searle...
