Nucleus is delighted to present Forest Carousel - a stunning duo exhibition featuring two of our favorite artists. Becky Dreistadt and May Ann Licudine (a.k.a. Mall) take us on a colorful journey into an enchanted forest that is bursting with fascinating creatures and surprises. The artists have brought life to an imaginative cast of characters that find themselves in the center of a magical and mysterious carnival deep within the woods.
About the Artists:
Primarily a comic artist, Becky Dreistadt’s work has been displayed in numerous galleries from Los Angeles to New York to New Zealand and Japan. She is mostly known for her online hand-painted comic Tiny Kitten Teeth and its cute companion piece Tigerbuttah. Her work has appeared on comic and poster projects with Adventure Time, animation with Yo Gabba Gabba and the fantasy comic Lookouts with Penny Arcade.
Becky Dreistadt
Mall is a freelance illustrator based in La Union, Philippines. In 2001, she graduated from the University of the Philippines College in Baguio, where she earned her degree in Fine Arts. Since graduating, her whimsical pieces, which often depict her charming characters Babu and Abu on a fanciful adventure, have been showcased worldwide. The artist says she is heavily inspired by her own dreams, nightmares, nature and folk music.
