February 9 - March 3
Opening Reception: Saturday February 9, 7pm - 11pm
Collectively, they make up as much as 30 million species worldwide consisting of nearly 90% of all organisms inhabiting this planet. Their origin dates back more than 300 million years and, within one year, they feast on a third of the Earth’s food crop. And beginning on February 9, our gallery will be under siege in a swarm of creativity that has never quite been witnessed before.
A Band of Bugs is an art show dedicated solely to those small sometimes creepy yet colorful, whimsical and wonderfully weird creatures that we encounter on a daily basis. What would the world be without bugs? Some might argue we’d be better off, but the eight artists featured in this spectacle of a show would beg to differ.
Artists:
Alex Kirwan
Amanda Visell
Anna Chambers
Chris Rabilwongse
Don Shank
Lou Romano
Megan Brain
Michelle Valigura
Meet the artists on opening night. They will be in attendance to greet fans and discuss their work.
This event features a special live performance from the world’s longest running modern surf band the Insect Surfers, the area’s best instrumental band according to L.A. Weekly. Plus, artwork created by actual bugs will also be on display as well!
