Alpenex thrive in barren, mountainous environments. Although they prefer to feed on grass, they are known to lick mountain rocks to extract vital minerals. These minerals allow their blood cells to retain larger amounts of water and oxygen, allowing them to ascend higher into the mountains to forage for food. Alpenex never shed their wool, once it grows long enough it mattes into a cocoon to encase their body during evolution. When domesticated they are routinely shorn, preventing them from evolving.
