It is speculated that Pinipup is an evolution of a long extinct creature that once dominated icy landscapes. By contrast, Pinipup is one of the most gentle creatures discovered to date. The creature’s flippers are excellent heat conductors, allowing the creature to precisely manipulate its internal temperature. If Pinipup’s flippers are placed against a warm object, such as itself, its body rapidly warms, or if placed against the ice, it cools. When on land, Pinipup stores excess oxygen in its blubber, which it can dispense during arduous dives. Pinipup can remain underwater indefinitely by temporarily shutting down unnecessary internal organs.
