Naucatus forms its distinctive carapace by scavenging shell pieces shed by Estuarto. When pressed against the creature’s body, these pieces quickly bond to its skin and over time build up their protective shell. Naucatus opt to crawl rather than walk, so they can better scavenge, relying on their sense of smell to source shells and food. In contrast to its usual crawling speed, the creature can accelerate and use its shell as a heavy battering ram when battling. Generally peaceful and nomadic, the creature spends most of its day napping inside its shell.
