Something I've always done with nearly every piece is create a context for the entities within. Sometimes it's only a descriptive
line or two, something that adds a bit of backstory, so that I can discover the full range of the character in the work. A few times
the context has actually developed into a full story.

 

For The Sebaath Maw, the piece is a representation of a living gate to hell. No one comes to hell but through the Maw. In the world this creature
lives in she is the forgotton god of half opened doors.
