Sunday: Bernie Wrightson Signing & Artist Panel

Legendary comic book artist Bernie Wrightson will be visiting Nucleus this Sunday for a very special artist Q & A moderated by artist Marshal Vandruff. A comprehensive slide show of Bernie's monumental work from Mary Shelly's Frankenstein will also be shown with a signing to follow. This one-time only event is FREE and will be held in Nucleus Gallery from 1-3PM.

Bernie Wrightson's illustrious career in the arts spans over 30 years. He's best known for his horror art having co-created the comic character Swamp Thing, and illustrated Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, which earned him universal acclaim. He also collaborates regularly with author Stephen King, having illustrated The Stand, Cycle of the Werewolf, and the Dark Tower V.  As a conceptual artist, Bernie has worked on many well known movies, particularly in the horror genre including Ghostbusters, The Faculty, Galaxy Quest, Spider-man, and George Romero's Land of the Dead.

We are honored to be hosting such a notable figure in the comic books industry and hope you can join us Sunday!

David Jien

He hasn’t even graduated yet and he’s already been seen around the block.
Once you see his curious atmospheric-letter-rendering illustrations, there’s no reason to wonder why he’s catching everyone’s attention. David has quite a way with the imagination as he creates a highly detailed graphite illustration of subjects varied from barren landscapes with text-like abstractions to a crowd of mutated animals in a crowd.

He will be featured in this month’s issue of Beautiful/Decay magazine and has also contributed to our current JAB STRONG FIERCE exhibit (view his work here)

You can also view other David Jien pieces featured at Nucleus here
