Takashi IwasakiBorn in Hokkaido, Japan, Takashi Iwasaki moved to Winnipeg, Canada in 2002 to study fine arts at the University of Manitoba. His love for the city grew, and he currently lives and works in Winnipeg, calling it his new hometown. Iwasaki often uses visual diary (records of his activities, thoughts, and memories in a period of time) as a basis for his work. He is highly skilled in a variety of mediums, including embroidery, sculpture, painting, and collage. Iwasaki has participated in both solo and group exhibitions in Canada, the United States, India, France, and Japan. He is the director of Semai Gallery in Winnipeg, Canada.
